These terms of use govern the use of the Veilleo mobile app and the veilleo.app website, published by SantéConsult, SAS with a share capital of €100, RCS Gap 931 635 502, 996 Route de Gap – Lieudit Berne, 05000 La Freissinouse, France ("we").
By creating an account, you accept these terms. If you do not accept them, do not use Veilleo.
1. What Veilleo does
Veilleo helps you protect yourself and your people:
- SOS and Warn: send an alert and your location to your people and groups;
- Request the location of someone, who chooses whether to share it;
- Danger zones: report a zone, be warned when entering it, with the fastest way out;
- Safety timer and lost-contact alert;
- Voice recording sent to your people;
- works without network (queued alerts and emergency SMS) and, depending on the plan, with a connected button.
2. Veilleo is not an emergency service
Veilleo does not replace emergency services. If you are in immediate danger, call 112 or your local emergency number.
Veilleo sends alerts to people you chose; it does not dispatch any emergency service. It depends on things we do not control: mobile network and Internet, GPS, battery, phone settings and restrictions (battery saving, permissions), Google and Apple notification services, and your people's availability. An alert may therefore arrive late, not arrive, or show an inaccurate location.
3. Your account
- Veilleo is open to people aged 15 and over (or younger with the consent of the holder of parental authority).
- Provide accurate information: your name and mobile number identify you to your people.
- Your account is personal. You are responsible for access to your phone and email address.
- You can delete your account at any time in the app (Settings → Delete my account).
4. Your commitments
You agree to:
- never locate anyone without their knowledge: a location request is always visible to the person concerned, and automatic sharing can only be turned on by them;
- only invite or add as emergency contacts people who accept it;
- not raise false alerts or report false danger zones, nor zones meant to harm a person, a place or a business;
- not use Veilleo to monitor, harass or control anyone, in particular a partner or an employee outside the legal framework;
- not try to bypass the security of the service or extract data from it.
Danger zones are visible to all users nearby: write titles and instructions factually, without personal data or insulting or defamatory content.
5. Danger zones reported by users
Zones are reported by users, under their own responsibility. We do not check their accuracy and cannot guarantee that a zone exists, nor that an unreported danger does not. The suggested way out is computed automatically from public map data: always check that it is passable and safe.
We may remove a zone reported as abusive, and suspend its author's account.
6. Free plan, paid plans and Business plan
Veilleo's essential features, including SOS, are free. Some features are reserved to paid plans, described in the app and in the terms of sale. The Business plan is covered by a specific contract.
7. Availability and changes to the service
We do our best to keep Veilleo available at all times, without being able to guarantee it: maintenance, updates, incidents at our providers. We may change the app's features.
8. Liability
Within the limits allowed by law, we are not liable for the consequences of an alert that is not received, delayed or inaccurate because of the factors described in section 2, nor for the use your people or other users make of the information they receive. Nothing in these terms limits our liability for gross negligence or wilful misconduct, or for bodily injury attributable to us.
9. Suspension and end of use
We may suspend or close an account in case of a serious breach of these terms (repeated false alerts, monitoring someone without their knowledge, abusive zones), after informing you except in an emergency. You may stop using Veilleo and delete your account at any time.
10. Personal data
The processing of your data is described in the privacy policy, which forms part of these terms.
11. Intellectual property
The app, the brand and Veilleo's content belong to SantéConsult. We grant you a personal, non-exclusive and non-transferable right to use them for as long as you use the service.
12. Changes to these terms
We may change these terms. We will tell you about significant changes in the app at least 15 days before they take effect; if you refuse them, you can delete your account.
13. Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by French law. In case of a dispute, please contact us first: [email protected]. If you are a consumer, you may use the consumer mediator free of charge: [mediator to be appointed]. Failing an agreement, the courts designated by law have jurisdiction. If you live in another EU country, you also keep the protection of the mandatory rules of your country of residence.
